Quotation for our Times
“Dear friends, may no adversity paralyze you.
Be afraid neither of the world,
nor of the future,
nor of your weakness.
The Lord has allowed you
to live in this moment of history
so that, by your faith,
his name will continue to resound
throughout the world.”
Pope Benedict XVI
World Youth Day 2011
The Way
Josemaría Escrivá was canonized in 2002 by Pope John Paul II, who declared that he should be "counted among the great witnesses of Christianity."
He begins this masterpiece with these words: "They are things I whisper in your ear - confiding them - as a friend, as a brother, as a father...so that some thought will arise and strike you; and so you will better your life and set out along ways of prayer and of love." Here again is his signature style: short paragraphs of individual wisdom straight from his heart, which form a strand of precious pearls when complete.
Millions of people of all races and walks of life have found on these pages the inspiration to recognize God and therefore significant meaning for their lives. The Way carries a depth and a vitality in its message, announcing that the word of Christ is not something dead, but a living reality capable of changing the life of everyone who does not close his heart to it.
The Way has become a classic of spiritual literature. Many call Escrivá the Thomas á Kempis for modern times.
This is truly a pocket size book. It measures 3.25" wide by 5" long by 1/2" thick (the size of an index card but thicker). The print at standard font size is very readable.
