Quotation for our Times
“Dear friends, may no adversity paralyze you.
Be afraid neither of the world,
nor of the future,
nor of your weakness.
The Lord has allowed you
to live in this moment of history
so that, by your faith,
his name will continue to resound
throughout the world.”
Pope Benedict XVI

About the Author:
Joseph A. Jungmann (Josef A. Jungmann) is associated with the renewal of the Eucharistic Liturgy at Vatican Council II (1962-65). His historical study of the Eucharistic Liturgy, The Mass of the Roman Rite, made him a natural choice to invite to Vatican II (1962-1965) as an expert; he was a member of the commission that had principal responsibility for the document on the renewal of the Catholic Eucharistic Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, promulgated by the Second Vatican Council in 1964.
Born in Austria in 1889, he spent most of his career as professor of Pastoral Theology at the University of Innsbruck. He died in Innsbruck in 1975.
